If you love to save money, here are four things to consider buying in June. Making these purchases at other times, throughout the year, typically means you’ll spend more money.
Lingerie
June is one of the best times to buy lingerie, thanks to the popular lingerie store Victoria’s Secret. The chain’s semi-annual sale is so popular, in fact, that other lingerie stores promote sales at their locations just to compete with prices.
If you’re not in the market for new bras or underwear, you can still take advantage of the sale. Most lingerie stores carry an array of beauty products to include perfume, lotions and makeup… just to name a few.
Tools
With Father’s Day falling on the third Sunday in June, you’ll see a lot of stores advertising sales on hardware, tools and building supplies to take advantage of the fact.
Most stores feature specials on items with bigger price tags such as tool sets, power tools and bundles. If you’re looking for a great Father’s Day gift, or you want to stock up on things for yourself, the beginning of June is the best time to do so.
Gym Memberships
An influx of gym memberships are purchased at the beginning of the year, likely due to people making a New Year’s resolution to hit the gym and get into shape.
As we move to later into the year, however, people who half-heartedly bought a membership in January end up cancelling a few months in. Because of this, many gyms find it necessary to actively recruit new members by means of offering lower rates in July to help combat the loss of business.
Kitchenware
With the uptick of summer weddings, many retailers typically feature big sales on dishes, cutlery and kitchen appliances in June. This is due to the fact that all of these items are popular wedding gifts. It’s not uncommon for big-box stores like Sears and Lowe’s to discount kitchen-related merchandise more than 40 percent.
Keep these things in mind, as you plan your shopping strategy for June. If you can hold off purchasing these products until then, your budget will thank you for it!
